How it works

  1. Step 1

    Upload family photos

A few clear shots of everyone you want in the book, plus the details that make them them.

  2. Step 2

    Approve the cast

We illustrate one portrait per person and show them to you. Nothing else is drawn until each one looks right.

  3. Step 3

    Read it, then print it

The finished book is yours to read online for free. Order hardcover copies for whoever should have one.

Questions people ask

What if they already have everything?
That's usually the point. This isn't an object they could have bought themselves — it's a book that only exists because of who's in it, which is why it tends to get read aloud rather than put in a cupboard.
Can I put the grandchildren in it too?
Yes. You can add several people to the cast, and each one gets their own approved portrait so they look like themselves throughout the book.
How long does it take?
The book itself is written and illustrated in minutes — you can read it the same day. A printed hardcover takes longer, since it's produced and shipped, so order with time to spare if it's for a specific date.
Can I read it before I pay?
Yes. Every page is generated and readable before any payment. Ordering the printed hardcover is a separate decision afterwards.
Can I order more than one copy?
Yes, and it's usually worth it — families tend to want a copy each. Extra copies of the same book ship together.
